Need to know | Frequently Asked Questions

Does centroteX interface reduce the machines thru hole capacity - e.g. during bar machining?

A common question regarding quick change-over systems is whether an additional interface affects the machines thru hole capacity.

The short answer: No.

Using the centroteX quick change-over interface has no impact on the machines thru hole. The maximum capacity is still determined solely by the machine spindle and the drawtube.

The interface itself does not change these conditions.

There is no disadvantage in terms of thru- hole capacity when using centroteX. The design limits of the machine remain unchanged, regardless of whether a centroteX quick change-over system is used or not.

This is a valid question. Many manufacturers have invested in their workholding over the years; sometimes from different suppliers.

The good news:
In many cases, existing clamping devices can be used.

After reviewing your workholding, we can adapt most solutions to the centroteX quick change-over interface. Many customers already use this service successfully and integrate their existing workholding into their centroteX system.

So, you are not completely dependent on HAINBUCH.

Many existing workholding devices can be used while also benefiting from the advantages of the centroteX interface.

When discussing workholding and interfaces, the focus is often on thru hole capacity. The overall length in the workspace is far more important.

Our workholding solutions are generally optimized for the shortest possible overall length. However, additional length cannot be completely avoided with a quick change-over interface due to design reasons.

With centroteX, this additional length remains within a manageable range:

centroteX M: up to 53 mm

centroteX S4: up to 55 mm

[Example: TOPlus mini 65 pull-back]

This means a certain additional length results from the interface, but the design of the workholding remains intentionally compact to keep the impact on the available workspace as small as possible.

A reasonable question. When there is additional length due to a quick change-over interface, it may seem likely that rigidity of the clamping device could decrease.

Short answer: No.

The centroteX quick change-over system maintains the same level of rigidity. This is achieved through the axial bolting of the workholding adapter and machine adapter, creating a highly stable connection.

As a result, centroteX achieves a level of rigidity comparable to a conventional set-up directly on the machine spindle.

Even with the quick change-over interface, the mechanical stability of the system remains the same.

Short answer: Yes, it is possible.

However, we recommend doing the initial set-up together with us. This allows you to understand the system from the ground up.

Combined with a compact training session, you will quickly become familiar with centroteX and be able to install and use the system independently in the future.

After the joint initial set-up, you can operate your centroteX system independently and install centroteX on all other machines yourself.
