TALEMENT is an extremely elastic membrane that is preferably actuated by air, but can also be actuated using liquid media. Wear resistant segments are vulcanized onto the clamping surfaces of the chuck. Because of their elasticity, the membranes follow the contour of the work piece without deforming when it is clamped. Even major deviations in shape, measuring in the millimeter range, can be easily compensated for. The clamping elements are joined together solidly after they are put in place.
