Even good things can be improved! This is the case with our successful SPANNTOP system, which we have consistently reworked, and which is now being replaced by a brand new generation of chucks: SPANNTOP nova. This development represents more than 20 years of SPANNTOP experience. And this experience utilizes all the advantages of the latest machine tools.
For example the position orientated basic end-stop of the »combi deadlength« type is completely new. It can be conveniently changed from outside via the three countersunk clamp screws in the chuck, and for the first time top concentricity and complete through-bore capacity are enabled for standard chucks.
The components are optimized for balance quality and have an extended guide length for the ground-to-match connecting sleeve, and the clamping length of the work pieces is also significantly greater.
And naturally your existing clamping heads also fit into the SPANNTOP nova chuck.
That's new:
- For an overview, click the link »What your chuck can do« on the right
- The combi pull-back type still has one end-stop only. Top concentricity and complete through-bore are combined in one product.
- Chuck balancing in two planes? No problem with SPANNTOP combi deadlength – even directly on your machine with your work piece.
- Extended guide length for ground-to-match connecting sleeve
SPANNTOP nova combi deadlength with vertically mounted clamping head combines through-bore and end-stop. The clamping mechanism pushes the taper bushing over the clamping head taper in order to exert clamping force.
Due to the additionally required taper bushing with a sliding fit, the overall diameter of the deadlength is greater than that of the pull-back chuck.
The deadlength chuck is suitable for use as an end-stop chuck for chuck work and as a through-bore chuck for bar work. Some machine builders also use it on the right spindle side in order to prevent clamping tension in the work piece during gripping of the work piece with the sub spindle.
Combi deadlength: with axial fixed end-stop for chucking work and through-bore capacity for bars and tubes
Radial clamping without axial movement of the clamping head
Clamps work pieces with a short collar or shoulder
Power conversion directly via the chuck taper without complicated mechanism
