The solid clamping head is precision ground in one set-up. It is then separated into segments and re-joined to its intended diameter through the vulcanization process. We have perfected this technology – you will notice the difference. It takes lots of expertise and meticulous work to join these stiff, hardened chrome-nickel segments with the especially for this purpose developed rubber from HAINBUCH. That rubber is resistant to all standard coolants and it prevents chips from entering the chuck.

For ultra precise machining:
Soft jaw HSW design

• Only the taper and coupling areas are hardened while the ID and face of the clamping head are soft. By clamping a loading ring or plug, the HSW head can be machined to the required size.

Vulcanized clamping heads of various standard sizes in round, serrated and smooth versions are usually available from stock – as are most of the standard size hexagon and square profiles.
