From one mold: TOPlus. Six to win
Machining cast parts can be tricky, because dust, chips and dirt impair the function of the clamping device. Due to radius displacement of the chuck cone and clamping head, it has not been possible in the past to fully seal SPANNTOP chucks. With TOPlus, however, HAINBUCH is writing a new chapter in the history of machining. Because this chuck is unprecedented. As always, it’s what’s inside that counts. TOPlus has a hexagonal core made of mineral cast. This new clamping device is lighter than steel chucks and also has a lower mass inertia torque, which is advantageous especially during high acceleration. Not to mention the positive dampening properties of the material. Due to the pyramid shape, as opposed to the conventional cone shape, all surfaces fit tightly, leaving no gaps. And that’s only the beginning. Due to the reduced surface pressure and the full-surface contact of the clamping segments, the clamping force of the TOPlus is a full 25 % higher than SPANNTOP. The span range is considerably larger – also for raw material. Lubrication requires only a single lubrication nipple, or can be provided automatically by the machine. In addition, TOPlus seals very well. The advantages of TOPlus are especially important in hard machining and dry cutting situations.
