You are probably familiar with this scenario: a work piece cannot be finish machined because a suitable I.D. clamping device is not available. In many cases a jaw chuck is only a limited, temporary solution and many commercially available Mandrels leave a lot to be desired concerning accuracy, rigidity, stroke or availability.
Contrary to the MANDO segmented Mandrel from HAINBUCH. Here you have modern clamping technology that is convincing even in the most critical applications. Even the most demanding users are thrilled by the concentricity and the rigidity it delivers. Its central element is the segmented bushing which is made out of wear resistant chrome/nickel steel. The rubber in between its segments provides a vibration dampening effect.
The clue is the stationary connection to the rotating MANDO. The same mandrel that had been used on a lathe can now be adapted to the stationary base plate. Precise clamping and robust machining is now possible in the stationary mode. All MANDO models can be adapted to and operated by the base plate. Clamping is accomplished by hand via a screw and a box wrench. Now any rotating MANDO can be utilized as a stationary clamping unit without any major set-up. Superb concentricity results can be expected. In addition to Lathes, the MANDO can now be used on Machining Centers, Milling Machines, Coordinate Measuring Machines, Pallets, Angle plates, Radial Drill Presses, Dividing Heads and many more universal applications.
